Ricordo di adolescenza, un passaggio alla Cappella di Angillon, la visita del museo, il paesaggio particolare, l'ambiente che si libera di questo luogo ha permesso la realizzazione di questo quadro che è anche un omaggio agli scomparsi della Grande Guerra.
Il personaggio al primo piano simboleggia questa frase scritta da Alain-Fournier: "Sono tornato nel mio paese, quello che si vede solamente scostando i rami...."(« Je suis revenu dans mon pays, celui qu'on ne voit qu'en écartant les branches...»).
